Borough of Pleasant Hills

The Borough of Pleasant Hills sits six and a half miles from the Liberty Tunnels on the Route 51 corridor. Pleasant Hills, which was incorporated in 1946, is a popular suburb for new home buyers with everything from “first home” to “dream home” to “retirement home” in its housing stock. Houses frequently sell within days of listing.

Despite the decline in the local steel industry and many other corporate giants merging away, Pleasant Hills has enjoyed a slow, but steady growth coupled with a low turn-over in residential housing.

Pleasant Hills has been deliberate in preserving its heritage. Within its borders there are two privately-owned historic structures: a log home dating back to 1774 and a stone house—the Torrence House—which dates to 1797.  Pleasant Hills Borough is one of the few communities in the United States with its own preserve of virgin woodland—the 16-acre A.W. Robertson Arboretum.
